Continuing on my victim theme, here’s a dialogue on an alternative perspective on the victim identity:
But I was only a child when I was victimized. I didn’t allow myself to be victimized!
You’re not a child now. How are you allowing yourself to be victimized in this moment? By re-experiencing whatever happened to you in your mind over and over again. Those are some vicious thoughts! They’re perpetuating your childhood trauma and making you into a victim.
Stop perpetuating your trauma and step out of your victim identity. Take a conscious breath, feel your connection to Life. Be here now. Find a good trauma therapist to work through your pain, if you need to. It may be too heavy to work through all at once. Find some support.
For smaller trauma, like emotional abuse or betrayal, you can try feeling the trapped pain-body emotions fully. I allow my emotions to come up, feel them, and allow them to pass while doing energywork on myself. There are a lot of therapies that you can try, even on your own, like tapping or shaking. Feel the emotions and tap on or shake your body at the same time and allow them to release. Let your intuition/higher mind/divine wisdom guide you. It’s a meditation, a deep listening.
For women who have experienced sexual abuse, there is a practice called vaginal de-armoring that you can do to yourself with the help of a special de-armoring wand. I’m sure there’s something similar for men. It’s worth researching body de-armoring and trauma therapy practices. But in the end, the work here is to return to connection to God/Spirit/Consciousness/Being. Don’t get lost in therapies and/or mind stories. In Ego Rehab we’re learning to go out of our minds, get over our selves (our false selves), and rest in peace while we’re still alive.
Blessings! 💓
