My name is Ellen and I’m addicted to my ego.
I would say I’m an egoholic or a thought junkie but that would just be adding another layer to my ego!
The truth is most of us are walking around every day under the influence of ego and we don’t even know it! If we’re on a “spiritual” path and have started the “awakening” process, it may be even harder to admit we still have an ego (and pain-body) that still on occasion rears its unconscious head and even possibly takes us over completely. Or maybe we’ve only had a glimpse of awakening and the ego is still in full operation, just with a new title, “spiritual me.”
Some Most of my friends who are also walking the spiritual path have told me not to focus on the ego. We should focus on what’s real, they say. We should go straight to Source, straight to God. Love and light and all that! 🪄💗✨😶🌫️
I don’t know about you, but I haven’t been able to do that consistently without my ego/pain-body complex tripping me up. 😈
So that’s what this website is about: recognizing where and how we get tripped up. We’re going to go through the “junk in our trunks” by examining all of our unconscious (negative) patterns.
Adyashanti has written a whole (fantastic!) book about the pitfalls on the spiritual path, which I’m currently devouring. It’s called The End of Your World. I highly recommend! It will blow your ego! 🤯😊
Anyway, I started studying my ego about a year ago. She’s a fascinating creature. I’ll introduce her in a later post. I’ve even given her a name.
What really started me on the spiritual path was reading A New Earth in 2008 because of the webcast with Oprah and Eckhart. I had been going through a multi-year identity crisis at that time and the book and webcast really shifted my perspective. This past fall, 2022, at 47-years old, I came full circle, finally attending a live Eckhart Tolle Retreat here in Hawaii where I live.
